Treating the Bikini Area
One of our most popular areas for laser hair removal is the bikini and extended bikini area. As the bikini area is sensitive, here are some tips to make your bikini laser treatment as *smooth* as possible.
There’s not as much worry these days about dark skin with laser hair removal. Our advanced laser technology proves more successful than older style lasers when it comes to targeting hair on dark skin. However, sun exposure should still be limited prior to any laser hair treatment. This will help to avoid skin irritation. If you do need to spend time in the sun, be sure to lather up with the sunscreen.
Refrain from waxing the area to be treated at least 2-4 weeks prior to the session. To see more success, we recommend waiting even longer. The hair follicle needs to be entirely intact at the time of the laser treatment to see the best results. Contrary to popular belief, you SHOULD shave before your laser treatment. Shaving does not affect the hair follicle, and therefore still allows successful hair removal. Furthermore, long hair can make for a more painful treatment.
It is perfectly normal and encouraged to take a round of ibprofreun about an hour before a laser hair treatment. This can tempter the mild discomfort following the laser hair treatment.
Following treatment, a topical solution will be applied to sooth the area. We recommend comfortable undergarments and loose pants so as not to irritate the bikini area. A soft cotton is our recommendation.
