The coronavirus outbreak has changed everything around us. Events have been postponed and there is no way we can socialize right now. While this is the perfect time to sit at home and binge-watch Netflix and/or Amazon Prime, some people are making the most of this time. We agree that staying indoors can keep your safe but what you do after finishing your work-from-home tasks can stir up the craziness.
Skin care is often neglected when you have a hectic work schedule. So now that you have some time, you can ramp up your skin care routine. Here are some things you can do while staying indoors
• Get adequate sleep
This is the best time to catch up on your sleep and keep dark circles at bay. Begin by getting your sleep routine on point; for this you need to understand your sleep cycle. Trust us, that beauty sleep is needed. When you are sleep deprived, the blood flow to your skin decreases, leading to dull skin. So, get that 8-hour deep sleep, you deserve it!
• Cleansing, Toning and Moisturizing
When indoors, you might feel lazy to follow the basic skin care routine – cleansing, toning and moisturizing (CTM). It is the most underrated routine, but it is very important. if you have oily skin, you are accumulating a lot of dirt and that needs to be cleaned as it can result in sudden breakouts. The next step is to apply a toner. This will help you tighten the pores. Do not avoid moisturizers because they help to maintain the moisture balance. Dry skin triggers the production and secretion of excess sebum, making it greasier. Even those with oily skin shouldn’t forgo the moisturizer. Instead, opt for a lighter option that will help maintain a proper Ph balance.

• Moisturize, moisturize and moisturize!
We cannot stress this enough. Despite your skin not being exposed to harsh sunlight, chemicals and pollution, we highly suggest that you stick to your moisturizer. However, stick to a single moisturizer and do not go overboard with the application.
• Stick to a basic beauty routine
We love a good beauty routine & this extra time is perfect to start a great habit. A morning & night routine is the absolute best way to ensure great skin year round. Remember, even with a professional skin treatment routine, we only touch your face once a month. Your everyday regimen will amplify results!
• Scrub Away Dead Skin Cells
This step often takes a backseat when you are at home simply because you think staying at home means lesser dirt accumulating on the face. But that is not the only reason you need to scrub at least once in two weeks. It is because of the production of dead skin cells and for better pore cleansing so that your skin can breathe thoroughly. But please, do not use walnut scrubs for your skin. Tiny tears caused by walnut ingredients are just not a good thing.
• Hydration is the key
You don’t just hydrate your skin with a hyaluronic acid-based moisturizer but also by drinking enough water to wash out the toxins. The thing about skincare is that the changes do not occur overnight. Moisturize but do not just settle down for that. Get your hydrating levels on point with enough fluids. Go for detox water or homemade juices with citrus fruits.
After spending hours staring at your laptop, give your eyes the rest it deserves. This is most often neglected and therefore, you develop dark circles and puffiness around the eyes. A good eye cream should provide hydration and nourishment to the sensitive under-eye area. You can also try out home ingredients like cucumbers and ice-cubes. They are quite effective; it helps to soothe the eyes and can prevent the formation of dark circles. Creams specifically formulated for the delicate skin around the eyes is essential!
Using a face mask at least once a week can make a visible difference to your skin texture. It helps to refresh and brighten up your face immediately. It helps to add hydration to your skin, diminishes fine lines, refines pores and makes your face firmer. Masks that are formulated for your specific skin type is a fantastic way to relax your skin & mind.
After completing your cleansing, toning and moisturizing, don’t leave out your lips. Your lips need constant nourishment because it doesn’t have oil glands. It is advisable to keep a lip balm handy when your lips feel dry. For an extra boost, opt for a lip product containing Hyaluronic Acid.
Pro tip: PCASkin’s Hyaluronic Acid Lip Booster is a must have!
Steam is typically a part of your facial treatment. In this you skin steamer to fuse warm, moist air onto the face. This helps in opening the pores. After the pores open, your skin can absorb the treatments better. This should be done at least one in two weeks, to maintain healthy skin.
