Laser skin Service Frequently Asked Questions
Do your lasers treat all skin types?
Thanks to the technology at New Life Laser, virtually everyone is a great candidate for Laser Treatments. We use only Best In Class Lasers in our office to guarantee you're happy with your visit! During your consultation, if we do not full believe in our ability to achieve the results you're looking for, we will tell you!
How long does a session take?
Your appointment time will depend on the areas that you are having treated, but most facial treatments can be completed in 30 to 40 minutes. Because there is no down time, you can easily get your treatment on your lunch break and return to work immediately. We take care to make sure that we give you a thorough treatment, and that you get in and out of our clinic as efficiently as possible, so you can get back to your busy schedule.
How many treatments do I need to have to get the result I want?
Our goal is to achieve the desired results within 6 treatments. The exact number will depend on what issues we are addressing. Some dark spot removal can be completed with a single treatment, while skin tightening takes a series of 4-6. Your technician will create a treatment plan, so you always know what to expect!
How do laser skin correction treatments work?
The simple answer is that lasers emit a pulse of light, which is absorbed by the pigmentation and collagen receptors in your skin. Depending on what treatment you are receiving, the laser is targeting different layers of your skin to distribute laser energy evenly throughout the area. This process promotes collagen growth, leaving your skin looking smooth & radiant!
What types of lasers do you use?
We use Candella Gentlemax Pro, Cynosure Apogee Elite & Candella PicoWay Lasers. We use only gold standard equipment in our office. New Life Laser ensures a safe, fast, and effective treatment.
Why do I need multiple laser treatments?
Unfortunately, few things in lift offer an overnight fix. Each laser skin treatment is targeting your skins "trouble areas". You will notice a healthy glow after your very first treatment, but it is recommended to continue through your entire treatment plan to achieve the best results possible.
Are Laser Skin Treatments Permanent?
YES! If you are removing dark spots, age spots, birthmarks or similar colorations from your skin, they will never return! However, if your goal is to lessen the appearance of fine lines & wrinkles, counteract sagging skin or achieve a smoother skin texture, a round of treatments is recommended every 12-18 months depending on your particular needs. This will all be included in your customized treatment plan.
Is it safe?
Absolutely! New Life Laser lasers are FDA approved for all areas of the body and all skin types. All New Life Laser technicians are laser certified and receive on-going training. Quality control and re-training are top priorities.
Are there any side effects?
When performed by trained and experienced practitioners, side effects are uncommon. Potential reactions include hyper- pigmentation (darkening of skin) or a histamine reaction (allergic reaction to the heat). Both conditions are temporary and can easily be treated with topical creams. If you experience an unexpected reaction, we ask that you contact the office by phone or text at 615-521-8847 OR send an email to email@example.com - Emails & Text messages are checked frequently even after regular business hours!
What body areas can be treated?
At New Life Laser, we preform laser skin treatments on the face, neck & chest area. Dark spot removal can be done anywhere on the body except within very close proximity to the eyes (like eyelids).
Who will perform my treatment?
A certified New Life Laser technician will perform each treatment.
Is it painful?
Most people tolerate it very well. Many customers have compared it to a rubber band snapping against the skin. Our laser has a cooling stream of air that is generated that helps to ease discomfort. Compared to waxing, the treatment has very little discomfort. However, everyone’s pain tolerance is different.
Should I be worried about radiation?
No. There are two basic types of radiation, (1) Non-ionizing radiation, and (2) Ionizing radiation. Hair removal lasers produce non-ionizing radiation, which is simply the radiation of light, and is FDA approved for your skin. Ionizing radiation, which represents x-rays, ultra-violet, and nuclear radiation is a completely different type of radiation and is not produced by hair removal lasers.
What should I expect after my treatment?
After the treatment, the treated area may be red or pink and feel similar to a sunburn. These reactions will resolve within 24 hours. A specialized cream will be applied by your technician upon completion of your treatment & you will receive aftercare instructions to take home.
Can I get treated if I am pregnant?
No, it is New Life Laser’s policy not to treat women who are pregnant. If you become pregnant, we will simply put your payment on hold, or reimburse you until you are ready to begin treatments again.
Is there an age limit on who can be treated?
New Life Laser can treat anyone 13 years or older at the parents discretion. Parental consent must be signed for clients under 18 years of age.
How many treatments will I need & how far apart are they scheduled?
Most patients need at least 4-8 effective treatments spaced 2-6 weeks apart. Because each client receives treatment based on their specific skin concerns, scheduling frequency will vary. We will provide you with a customized treatment plan to ensure you always know what to expect!
