Laser Tattoo Removal

Our laser tattoo removal treatments are performed using the PicoWay Laser, a state-of-the-art laser that can treat a broad range of tattoo colors and types. Every tattoo is unique, and your specific needs will be addressed at your consultation. We are usually able to eliminate ink through a series of laser treatments spaced four to six weeks apart. Most require 8 to 15 treatments depending on the density and color of ink.

How does laser tattoo removal work?

Picosecond technology delivers energy to the targeted ink in ultra-short pulses that are so fast, they’re measured in picoseconds – that’s one trillionth of a second! Laser energy is directed at the tattooed area, passing harmlessly through the outer layer of the skin and targeting the tattoo ink directly. The laser fragments the ink, allowing your body to absorb it and break it down naturally and safely.

Laser Tattoo Removal Frequently Asked Questions

How does laser tattoo removal work?

Laser energy is directed at the tattooed area for a fraction of a second, passing harmlessly through the outer layer of the skin and targeting the tattoo ink directly. The laser fragments the ink, allowing your body to absorb it and break it down naturally.

Can all colors be removed?

Most colors can be removed completely. Some colors may require more treatments. Even the most challenging colors will usually fade significantly. On rare occasion, certain colors may not be removable.

Will it be gone after my first treatment?

Tattoo removal requires multiple treatments. There are several different factors involved in determining how many treatments your particular tattoo will require. During your free consultation, we’ll evaluate your tattoo to give you a much more accurate idea of how many treatments it will take to remove your particular tattoo.

Will I see a change after each treatment?

A visual change depends on the amount of ink present. Everyone responds at a different rate. Some people see a difference with every treatment, while others will not see any change for a few treatments in a row. Following the clinical staff’s advice will ensure that you get the best results possible in the shortest amount of time.

Are there any limitations after treatment?

You may resume most activities soon after treatment, provided you ensure the area is not rubbed or scratched. If you are in the sun, you should cover the treated area to prevent sunburn until the skin has healed. Most importantly, follow our clinical staff’s directions; they may adjust from treatment to treatment to ensure the best results.

Can I remove part of a tattoo?

Yes. We can take the face off your pin-up girl to have it redone. We can take just the name off the banner across your heart. Our lasers are very accurate.

Can I have permanent make-up removed?

We do not treat these types of tattoos. Some cosmetic inks have metallic bases. When the laser comes in contact with these inks, it can turn black. Be cautious of anyone who says they can effectively remove cosmetic ink. Once this darkening occurs, it cannot be removed by any laser. You may end up with permanent black lip liner. Tattooed eyeliner cannot be removed due to the danger of the laser near the eye, and the ink in permanent eyebrows could migrate up the forehead causing a shadow effect.

Will I have a scar?

The chances of scarring are virtually zero if you are compliant with the aftercare instructions given to you by your treating clinician. Any scarring present before you begin tattoo removal will remain after the tattoo ink has been removed; our lasers do not remove existing scars, only ink.

Does it hurt?

Pain is your personal perception, and everyone experiences it differently. There is a minimal amount of discomfort involved in this procedure. Before your treatment, we cool the overlying skin with an icepack. This makes the procedure as comfortable as possible.

What should I do before treatment?

Shave the area to be treated. Avoid aspirin, Aleve, Motrin or ibuprofen products.

Does NTR accept insurance?

At this time, we do not bill insurance companies directly. Each patient is responsible for all charges incurred during each visit.quest a Free Conultati
