Laser skin Service Frequently Asked Questions
Do your lasers treat all skin types?
Thanks to the technology at New Life Laser, everyone is a great candidate for treatments. We use only Best In Class lasers as well as medical grade products in our office to guarantee you get the most optimal results during your visit! During your consultation, we will determine the best way to customize treatments for your individual skin concerns so that we can help you achieve the results you're looking for!
Can you treat acne or acne scars?
YES! Our laser and skin treatments are both very effective on acne! Our laser treatments actually destroy the bacteria that cause breakouts while our Professional Products and Peels correct and smooth the top layer of skin.
How long does a session take?
Your appointment time will depend on the areas that you are having treated, but most facial treatments can be completed in 15-30 minutes. Because there is no down time, you can easily get your treatment on your lunch break and return to work immediately. We ensure that you will have a very thorough treatment, and that you get in and out of our clinic as efficiently as possible, so you can get back to your busy schedule.
How many treatments do I need to have to get the result I want?
You will have noticeable results after 3 treatments & the most optimal results after 6 treatments. Some dark spot removal can be completed with a single treatment, while skin tightening takes a series of 3-6. Your technician will create a customized treatment plan, so you always know what to expect!
How do laser skin correction treatments work?
The simple answer is that lasers emit a pulse of light, which is absorbed by the pigmentation and collagen receptors in your skin. Depending on what treatment you are receiving, the laser is targeting the deepest layers of your skin to distribute laser energy evenly throughout the area. This process stimulates collagen production & remodeling, leaving your skin looking smooth & radiant!
What types of lasers do you use?
We use Candella Gentlemax Pro, Cynosure Apogee Elite & Candella PicoWay Lasers. We use only gold standard equipment in our office. New Life Laser ensures a safe, fast, and effective treatment.
Do you offer other types of skin treatments?
Yes, we do! When treating the face, it is important to address EVERY layer of the skin. Our laser treatments treat the deespest layers while our in-office professional peel treatments and products address the top layer or barrier which is a crucial step toward achieving the best possible result! Most importantly, our Skin Care Professionals are all PCA SkinTM Certified Specialists.
Why do I need multiple treatments?
Unfortunately, few things in life offer an overnight fix. Each skin treatment is targeting the skins "trouble areas". You will notice a healthy glow after your very first treatment, but it is recommended to continue through your entire treatment plan to achieve the best results possible.
Are Laser Skin Treatments Permanent?
If your goal is to lessen the appearance of fine lines & wrinkles, counteract sagging skin, stop breakouts due to acne or achieve a smoother skin texture, a series of 3-6 treatments is recommended every 12-18 months depending on your particular needs. This will all be included in your customized treatment plan. For pigmentation, 1-3 treatments is recommended.
Are the treatments safe?
Absolutely! New Life Laser lasers are FDA approved for all areas of the body and all skin types. All New Life Laser technicians are certified and receive on-going training. Quality control and re-training are top priorities.
Are there any side effects?
When performed by trained and experienced practitioners, side effects are uncommon. Potential reactions from laser treatments influde include hyper- pigmentation (darkening of skin) or a histamine reaction (allergic reaction to the heat). Both conditions are temporary and can easily be treated with topical creams. If you experience an unexpected reaction, we ask that you contact the office by phone or text at 615-521-8847 OR send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org - Emails & Text messages are checked frequently even after regular business hours!
What body areas can be treated?
At New Life Laser, we preform skin treatments on the face, neck & chest area. Body peels & pigment treatments can be done anywhere on the body except within very close proximity to the eyes (like eyelids).
Who will perform my treatment?
A certified New Life Laser technician will perform each treatment. All of our technicians have exceeded Laser Safety Licence Requirements, Esthetician License Requirements & complete continuing education courses 2+ times every year!
Is it painful?
Most people tolerate it very well. Many customers have compared it to a rubber band snapping against the skin. Our lasers have skin cooling systems that help ease discomfort. Our Skin Treatments sometimes cause a very temporary mild stinging sensation, that quickly dissapates.
What should I expect after my treatment?
After a laser treatment, the treated area may be red or pink and feel similar to a sunburn. These reactions will resolve within 24 hours. A medical grade product will be applied by your technician upon completion of your treatment & you will receive aftercare instructions to take home.
After a professional peel treatment, you may notice flaking and peeling of the skin up to 5 days after your treatment. All peel treatments include a Post Proceedure Kit to alleviate any post treatment symptoms as well as strengthening the outer layer or barrier of your skin to help reveal younger, smoother, radiant, more healthy skin.
Can I get treated if I am pregnant?
No, it is New Life Laser’s policy not to treat women who are pregnant. If you become pregnant, we will simply hold your treatments for you until you are ready to resume your treatment plan.
Is there an age limit on who can be treated?
New Life Laser can treat anyone 13 years or older with parental permission. Parental consent must be signed for clients under 18 years of age.
How many treatments will I need & how far apart are they scheduled?
